Kusum’s new song released after 9yrs, web series coming to Eid

After a six-year break, Kusum Sikder returned to acting in 2024 with the movie ‘Shoroter Joba’. This time, she returned to singing. Her song titled ‘Hera Hote Hele Dule’, written and composed by Kazi Nazrul Islam, has been released.
Kusum said that after nine years, she released a song titled ‘Nesha’ sung by herself. Her last song was released in 2017.
The music video for song ‘Hera Hote Hele Dule’ Naate Rasul has been created using AI technology. The video was planned by Faridur Reza Sagor and Shykh Seraj and produced under the banner of Impress Telefilm.
The music video was first broadcast on Channel i last Sunday. It was later released on the channel’s digital platform.
Kusum Sikder has taken courses in Nazrul music and classical music from Nazrul Academy. So, singing Naate Rasul of Nazrul has become easy for her. In this regard, Kusum said, “I’m basically a Nazrul singer. So, it feels great to be back with a song by Kazi Nazrul Islam. The last song was released in 2017. Apart from that, an exception in that the music video was created with AI. The whole world is moving forward rapidly in terms of technology. We are also keeping pace with it, this is a good thing.”
She recently completed the shooting of web series ‘Paap Kahini 2’. This is the first web content starring Kusum Sikder. It is a story of love, extramarital affairs, deception and revenge and is being directed by Shahriar Nazim Joy. He also directed the series ‘Paap Kahini’ that was released last year.
Regarding working on OTT for the first time, Kusum said, “The medium is not that important when it comes to acting. I didn’t feel any difference during the shooting. I tried to give my best according to the character. And I have known Joy for a long time, and the understanding is good. It is always a pleasure to work with old co-stars.”
If everything goes well, ‘Paap Kahini 2’ will be released on the OTT platform iScreen this Eid.
Kusum said that she will start dubbing this series soon. However, she did not want to say anything about the story of the series right now.
She added, “As an actor, I’m always selective. There is no repetition in my works. The number of works is less because I do not want to work in the same character. The story of this series is the same as I like to work. I hope the audience will be able to see a good work.”
