BCCCI team calls on strengthen BD-China economic ties

A Business delegation of the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI), led by its President Mohd, Khorshed Alam and Secretary General Jamilur Rahman accompanied by the Senior Vice Presidents, Vice President and distinguished members of the Chamber, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Commerce.
The meeting was held in the context of the strategic economic priorities of the new Government, said a press release. During the meeting, several key points were discussed to strengthen Bangladesh-China trade and industrial cooperation, including “Made in Bangladesh” Outlets in China.
BCCCI proposed to establish at least 20 branded retail outlets in China to promote Bangladeshi garments, enhancing market presence and increasing exports.
The BCCCI team observed that allowing LNG imports through the private sector would improve energy availability for industries and support uninterrupted production.
They mentioned that encouraging greater Chinese investment in Economic Zones and attracting relocating industries from China particularly labor-intensive sectors would generate employment, boost exports, and accelerate industrial growth in Bangladesh. On behalf of BCCCI, the delegation formally submitted several strategic proposals, including enhancing Bangladesh’s exports to China particularly agricultural and value-added products, establishing a modern Polytechnic Institute with Chinese support, and setting up a Medical Nursing Training Institute to strengthen healthcare human resource development and Encouraging Chinese banks to establish branches in Bangladesh would facilitate smoother trade settlements, reduce transaction costs, and strengthen financial connectivity between the two countries.
The delegation expressed sincere appreciation for the Minister’s leadership and guidance and reaffirmed BCCCI’s unwavering commitment to advancing a dynamic and mutually beneficial Bangladesh-China economic partnership.
