‘If Shakib can play, it will be good for the country’

Shakib Al Hasan last played for the Bangladesh National Cricket team in 2024. After that, he did not play wearing the red and green jersey again.

Even after August 5 of that year, Shakib did not come to the country due to a lawsuit.

Although he once tried to return to Dubai, he had to return due to the changed circumstances.

Discussions are underway again about Shakib’s return to the country. His close teammate Mosaddek Hossain spoke about the former captain’s return to the country and retirement.

Facing the media on Saturday, Mosaddek said, “If he (Shakib) can play, it will be good for the country.

If he can retire from the country, I think it will be a matter of pride for him and for the whole of Bangladesh.”

The ODI format BCL is currently being played in Rajshahi and Bogura. Mosaddek said about the wickets and the frenzy of the spectators there.

He said, “If I talk about the spectators, then I would say that BPL can definitely be organized (here).

However, I think we need to work a little more on the outfield. We can see many people making small mistakes, fumbling the ball.

Overall, the wicket is very good, and it is a very good experience in Bogura. If we have to do the BPL, we will have to do it a little better.”

Later, Mosaddek said about Zisan Alam’s century. “You cannot expect consistent innings from those who play mercantile cricket or expect big innings every day.

They will make a team win the day they play. That is what we saw today. His (Zisan) innings was needed to create the foundation for us to win, and he did that perfectly”.
