Bangladesh Embassy in Manama urges nationals to stay indoors amid regional tensions

Diplomatic Correspondent :

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Manama has urged Bangladeshi expatriates in Bahrain to avoid going unless absolutely necessary, citing the prevailing regional situation.

In an emergency notice issued on Saturday, the mission called on all Bangladeshi nationals residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain to exercise heightened caution.

“Considering the current regional situation, all Bangladeshi citizens in Bahrain are requested to remain especially alert,” the embassy said in the advisory.

“Everyone is urged to stay at their respective residences or in safe locations and refrain from going outside unless necessary.”

The mission further advised expatriates to keep essential items readily available at all times. These include cash, CPR cards, necessary medicines, dry food, and mobile phone chargers, taking into account the overall situation.
The notice also called on Bangladeshi nationals to strictly follow instructions and special advisories issued by the Government of Bahrain.

It emphasized maintaining respect for local laws and refraining from uploading any videos related to the current regional developments on social media platforms.

The embassy requested that in case of emergency, Bangladeshi citizens contact its helpline at +973 33375155 or email [email protected] for assistance.

A significant number of Bangladeshi expatriates live and work in Bahrain, contributing to the country’s economy through remittances.

The embassy said it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates if necessary.
