EBL to establish specialized libraries for children with special needs
Business Desk :
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has announced a strategic partnership with Footsteps Bangladesh under its flagship project & Project Britto to establish specialized libraries for children with special needs, aiming to promote inclusive education and independent learning.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, Ziaul Karim, Head of Communications and External Affairs at EBL, handed over a cheque to Mohammad Taqi Yasir, Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn and Co-Founder and Vice President of Footsteps Bangladesh, at a ceremony held at the bank’s head office in Dhaka recently.
Through Project Britto, Footsteps Bangladesh seeks to address a critical gap in educational infrastructure in schools serving children with special needs. The libraries will be equipped with adaptive learning materials, sensory-friendly furniture, accessible shelving, and creative zones designed to support cognitive and emotional development. Developed in collaboration with professional architecture partners, these spaces will provide a joyful, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
From Footsteps Bangladesh, attendees included Ebrahim Daud Abir, Head of Programs, and Sadia Tanzim Tania, Program Development and Growth Officer; from EBL Maj. Md. Abdus Salam, psc (Retd), Head of Administration; Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, FCS, Company Secretary; Md. Maskur Reza, FCA, Head of Business Information Systems; were present among others at the ceremony.
