Jubo Dal leader fatally stabbed

A local Jubo Dal leader was stabbed to death by assailants in Dighalia upazila of Khulna on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place around 4:30pm in front of the Boxibari graveyard under Senhati union.

The deceased, Khan Murad, 35, was the senior joint convener of Senhati union unit of Jubo Dal. He was the son of Khan Monsur Ahmed of Haji village.

According to locals, a group of 10 to 15 people, reportedly led by Sajjad and Alamin, attacked Murad. Sensing danger, he took shelter inside a nearby shop.

However, the attackers allegedly broke open the lock, entered the shop, and stabbed him. They also severed tendons below both of his knees, witnesses said.

Murad was first taken to Digholia Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. Tension prevailed in the area following the incident.
