Edu minister warns teachers against taking unapproved second job

City Desk :

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milan has warned of strict administrative and legal action against teachers who have engaged in other professions without prior permission.

The minister issued the warning on Friday while speaking to reporters in his constituency in Chandpur-1.
Milon, returned by a wide margin in the general election, holds responsibility for both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

He emphasised that the government has taken a “zero-tolerance” stance to ensure discipline and accountability in educational institutions.

“Teaching is a noble and responsible profession. To ensure quality education, teachers must devote their full time and attention to their institutional duties,” Milon said.

The minister cautioned that taking up other professions in breach of government rules could seriously damage the education system. He also called on media organisations to report any negligence, irregularities or corruption within the sector.

“We will investigate reports published in the media or complaints received through other channels. If the allegations are proven true, the individuals involved will face stern action,” he added.
