Social Shed distributes iftar to needy families

At the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the social organization “Social Shed” located in the South Tutpara area of Ward No. 31 of Khulna metropolis has stood by the helpless, underprivileged and hungry people. Since the 1st of Ramadan, the organization has been quietly delivering Iftar items to the homes of poor families.

The organization informed that in order to maintain the social status of the beneficiaries and protect their honor, Iftar items are being distributed door to door in the dark of night without taking any photos.

The Iftar items distributed included chickpeas, sugar, muri, chira, dates and ingredients for making sherbet. Members of the organization said that there is a plan to continue this activity throughout Ramadan.

Present at the event were the organization’s advisor journalist Asafur Rahman Kajal, president Mahmudunnabi, general secretary Md. Sohan, treasurer Mirajul Islam, organizing secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, publicity secretary Saikat Sheikh, executive members Helal Akhter, Syed Ashiquzzaman and Md. Mohsin, and other members.

The leaders of the organization said that if the wealthy in the society get cooperation, it will be possible to stand by the helpless people on a larger scale in the future. They urged everyone to take the lessons of Ramadan and come forward for humanitarian work.
