Saira’s 2 films awaiting release

Saira Akhter Jahan entered the film industry in 2018. She acted in Proshoon Rahmaan’s film ‘Jonmobhumi’.

The film was screened at international film festivals in various countries, including the Toronto Film Festival.

After completing her studies from Dhaka University, Saira joined the job to fulfill her family’s needs.

After that, she was not seen in acting for a long time. Saira started working again in 2024 after a break of almost four years.

Two films in which she acted awaiting to release, ‘Biswas Koren Bhai’ and ‘Tribunal’.

The film ‘Biswas Koren Bhai’ is directed by Raisul Islam Anik. The story of the movie is about black money. A few people from different professions come together to fulfill their dreams.

They embark on a new mission. The director has taken the story of their mission forward with a mix of comedy, suspense and thriller.

The movie was premiered at the 24th Dhaka International Film Festival held in January.
However, Saira could not attend the premiere show as she was out of Dhaka.

While talking in this regard, she said, “I couldn’t attend the movie’s premiere as I was out of Dhaka for a special work. I missed the opportunity to see the audience’s reaction face to face.

However, when it is released in theatres, I will try to watch it with the audience. I’m very optimistic that everyone will like the movie.”

Saira said that she believes that the release process of the movie ‘Biswas Koren Bhai’ is underway. The release date will be officially announced soon.

It also stars Ujjwal Kabir Himu, Saif Khan, Rafiul Quader Rubel and others.

Another movie starring Saira is ‘Tribunal’, directed by Raihan Khan.

The story of this movie is based on a tragic incident of violence against women and children in Chattogram.

Saira plays the role of the wife of an unsuccessful lawyer.

Saira’s co-star is Ador Azad. Tariq Anam Khan, Nusraat Faria, Tania Brishty, Moushumi Hamid, Rakib Hossain Yvon and others also acted in this movie.

Regarding talking about ‘Tribunal’, Saira said, “This is a courtroom drama. Many talented artistes have been added here to meet the needs of the story.

The character I play is quite emotional and challenging.”

If everything goes well, the film ‘Tribunal’ is planned to be released during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

Saira said that she is in talks with several other projects. However, she wants to prioritise quality over quantity; she wants to do work of various genres.
