BRUR VC congratulates PM Tarique Rahman

The Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali, has extended his heartfelt congratulations and warm felicitations to Mr Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on assuming office as the 11th Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

In a congratulatory statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, the Vice-Chancellor described the occasion as a historic moment, stating that the nation stands at the threshold of renewed expectations, resurgence and immense possibilities. In his message, he remarked that the new government has commenced its journey as a reflection of the democratic aspirations and expectations of the people.

He expressed firm optimism that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the foundations of democracy, justice, freedom of expression and good governance will be further strengthened. He also hoped that the education sector would receive the highest priority in national development and human resource advancement.

The Vice-Chancellor further stated that Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur – regarded as the academic hub of higher education in the northern region – would, under the cooperation and prudent leadership of the present government, transform into a research-oriented, technology-driven and internationally recognised institution.

Through the establishment of modern laboratories, innovative research initiatives, international academic partnerships and the development of skilled human resources, the university is expected to play a leading role not only in the advancement of the northern region but also in the overall progress of the country. He also expressed confidence that the university would continue to play an effective role in nurturing young generations as skilled, humane and patriotic citizens.

He added that during the tenure of the new government, national unity, social harmony and equitable development would be ensured. Increased investment in education, research and technology would enable Bangladesh to strengthen its position in global competitiveness.

He expressed his belief that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the country would advance rapidly towards economic prosperity, the establishment of a knowledge-based society and sustainable development.

The Vice-Chancellor concluded by wishing the Honourable Prime Minister, members of the Cabinet and all Members of Parliament good health, longevity and success. He further expressed his expectation that under the dynamic leadership of the new government, Bangladesh would reach new heights of development, prosperity and dignity, and that Begum Rokeya University would emerge as one of the guiding beacons of that progress.
