Krishibid Group celebrates silver jubilee

Krishibid Group celebrated its 25th anniversary on Tuesday with great enthusiasm.
Established in 2001, the group has evolved over the past 25 years into one of the country’s leading industrial conglomerates, particularly in agriculture and diversified sectors.

The daylong celebration was held at the Krishibid Group Auditorium. The event was presided over by chairman of the group, freedom fighter Kbd Md Tariq Hassan, Managing Director and one of the founding entrepreneurs of the group, agricultural scientist Ali Afzal, attended as chief guest.

Deputy managing director Kbd Md Alamgir; director (HR & administration) Col Meher Mohabbat Hossain (retd); as well as the managing directors and CEOs of the group’s subsidiaries, along with officials and employees.

Ali Afzal stated: “Twenty-five years ago, this journey began with an investment of only Tk 30,000 in a small poultry farm.

It has transformed into a vast industrial group valued at nearly Tk 10,000 crore. Although the journey started with just five agriculturists, more than 6,500 agriculturists and agricultural scientists are now associated with the group.

Among them are former secretaries of various ministries, agricultural experts, agricultural extension specialists, university professors, and highly educated professionals from diverse fields.”

He added: “Krishibid Group has been working tirelessly for the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.

In the business arena, we are the first in the country to adopt a long-term strategic plan extending to the year 2100.

By then, we may no longer be here that is certain. However, with the vision we hold and the plans we have adopted, Krishibid Group, insha’Allah, will grow into the country’s largest institution, with a valuation of Tk500,000 crore.”

He also emphasized that by ensuring agricultural and food security, creating employment opportunities, and nurturing entrepreneurs, the group will continue to play a significant role in national development in the years ahead.

Following the discussion session, the silver jubilee of Krishibid Group was celebrated in a festive atmosphere with a ceremonial cake cutting.
