AL offices open different areas chant joybangla slogans

Activities banned Awami League leaders have opened their offices in different areas in the country and chanted ‘joybangla’slogans which provoked protesters to vandalisms and set fire in atleast two places.
Sources said, Dinajpur town and the district’s Birganj Upazila AL offices, Khulna city and district offices, Panchagarh sadar upazila AL offices were opened after the 13th national election.
In Dinajpur town, leaders and activists on Sunday entered the Dinajpur District Awami League office and chanted slogans. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Our Dinajpur Correspondent Tofayel Ahmed said district Awami League Treasurer Khaled Habib Suman, Cultural Affairs Secretary Rahmatullah Rahmat, district Awami League member and Convener of the District Swechchhasebak League Syed Salah Uddin Dilip, District Swechchhasebak League member Ruhana Nishat Bithi, Sadar Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary Ashraful Alam, Birganj Upazila Swechchhasebak League Convener Arifuzzaman, Paltapur Union Swechchhasebak League General Secretary Monjurul Islam, Organizing Secretary Abdur Razzak, among others, entering the district Awami League office and chanting slogans.
The party office located in Basuniapatti of the district town.
They took selfies with their mobile phones and recorded videos of themselves entering the office and chanting slogans “Joy Bangla” and “Sheikh Hasina has no fear; we have not left the streets.”
After staying there for some time, they left.
In protest against their entry into the Awami League office, around 5:00 pm, several individuals under the banner ‘July Warriors’ entered the premises, set fire to straw, and chanted anti fascist slogans.
Dinajpur Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Abdul Halim said instructions have been given to arrest the accused named in the case.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Birganj Upazila Awami League member and former Convener of the Upazila Chhatra League Roknuzzaman Biplob, former Upazila Vice Chairman Monayem Mia, Shatgram Union Awami League President Golam Mostafa, Paltapur Union Awami League General Secretary Lecturer Ziaur Rahman Zia, and other leaders entered the Birganj Upazila Awami League office.
Meanwhile, national flag hoisted at Awami League office in Khulna; later vandalized.
Local leaders and activists of the activity-banned Awami League hoisted the national flag at the party office in Khulna.
They also hung portraits of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and ousted fascist Hasina and placed floral wreaths on them. During this time, they chanted “Joy Bangla.”
Later in the evening, members of an organization called “Red July” arrived and vandalized and removed the Mujib, Hasin’s photos and the offices.
The incident took place Sunday afternoon at the organization’s metropolitan and district office located in Shankha Market in front of Shaheed Hadis Park under Khulna Sadar Police Station.
Khulna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Kabir Hossain said, “In the afternoon, some individuals unlocked the Awami League office, hung portraits of top leaders, and placed wreaths.
Later in the evening, members of an organization called ‘Red July’ came and vandalized and removed them. Police have collected CCTV footage from nearby cameras.
The activity-banned Awami League leaders involved will be identified and brought under the law.
In Panchagarh, after winning the election, Panchagarh Sadar Upazila BNP President Abu Daud Prodhan unlocked an activity-banned Awami League party office.
On Friday (February 13) morning, he opened the Chaklahat Union Awami League office in Panchagarh Sadar Upazila and expressed his support for them.
After the video of the office being unlocked spread on social media, mixed reactions emerged both in favor and against the move.
The video showed a group of Chaklahat Union Awami League leaders and activists entered the office.
Former banned Chhatra League leader Anisuzzaman Swapan said, “If anyone tries to tamper with the flag of Bangladesh and the Liberation War, we will stand united shoulder to shoulder to defeat this defeated force again. Regardless of party affiliation, we all want to live in this area.”
BNP leader Abu Daud Prodhan said, “To the Awami League brothers, I want to say – you are citizens of an independent and sovereign Bangladesh. Do not engage in any wrongdoing. If anyone harms you, inform me. I will not tolerate any wrongdoer.
This is not my party’s decision. I opened the Awami League office to keep the area peaceful and prevent tension. Earlier, Jamaat had locked this office.”
