20.4pc growth of remittance inflow till Feb 14

Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 20.4 percent reaching $20.787 billion during July to February 14 of the current fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26).

Last fiscal, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $17.26 billion, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued on Sunday.

During the first fifteen days of February of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $1.35 billion, which was $1.3 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Earlier, Bangladesh received 16.27 billion U.S. dollars in remittances in the first half of the current fiscal year from July 2025 to June 2026.

Remittances from millions of Bangladeshis hit an all-time high of over 30 billion dollars in the fiscal year 2024-25.
Remittance mainly comes from Middle East countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
