Optimistic about victory, Nahid warns against result manipulating

Nahid Islam, convener of the NCP, one of the key partners of the 11-party alliance,
expressed optimisms over victory while urging all to get vigilant to prevent any conspiracy of voting result manipulating.

He made the call while speaking to journalists on Thursday after casting his vote at AKM Rahmatullah College in Badda, Dhaka.

Nahid Islam said, “I urge everyone to vote without fear. Over the past 16 years, there was no opportunity to vote properly. Now, through this election, there is a chance to return to democracy.”

Alleging obstruction in various places, he said, “In different areas, our leaders and activists have been attacked. However, we are not giving importance to these adversities.

We will guard the polling centers.”
Expressing hope of forming the government, Nahid said, “The 11-party alliance was formed with the goal of winning the election. If people can vote freely and fairly, we are on the verge of forming the government.”

He also said they would accept the outcome regardless of the result: “We are optimistic about victory. However, we will accept the people’s verdict.”
