Electoral candidates map out campaigns to meet public needs: DNCC constituencies

Voters across Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have clear demands as the 13th National Parliament election nears on February 12.
They want streets free from floodwater after rain. They need less traffic jam on busy roads. They ask for fair deals in market tenders without corruption. Families call for safe walks at night and reliable gas for cooking.
In DNCC’s 54 wards from Dhaka-11 to Dhaka-18, apartment dwellers seek parks and smart plans.
BNP candidates build plans around DNCC needs M.A. Qayum runs in Dhaka-11 across wards 21-23 and 37-42 in Rampura, Badda, Bhatara and parts of Hatirjheel. He said that every inch of Dhaka-11 constituency will be brought under the purview of area-based social societies.
Saiful Alam Nirob seeks Dhaka-12 and the constituency covers Tejgaon, Tejgaon Industrial Area, Hatirjheel and parts of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station. He pledged to eradicate extortion, curb drug abuse, dismantle teen gangs.
Bobby Hajjaj campaigns in Dhaka-13. The constituency comprises of Mohammadpur, Rayerbazar (partial), Adabor, Shekhertek, Basila, Shyamoli areas. Bobby Hajjaj, BNP candidate for the Dhaka-13 constituency has pledged to establish a people-friendly, safe, and accountable administration.
Sanjida Islam Tulee covers Dhaka-14. The constituency includes Kaundia Union of Savar Upazila, Bangaon Union, and Wards 7-12 of Dhaka North City Corporation. She would be the first woman to contest from this seat.
Shafikul Islam Khan Milton seeks Dhaka-15 in wards 4, 13, 14, 16, running a high-voltage campaign. All eyes are firmly fixed on Dhaka-15-one of the most competitive constituencies in the city.
Aminul Haque stands for Dhaka-16 constituency and he is committed to build a humanitarian country through implementing development plan.
Tarek Rahman contests Dhaka-17 in wards 15, 18-20 of Cantonment. He pledges ‘Safe City’ and 40 new playgrounds for the modernised Dhaka. His election campaigns light up public concerns.
SM Jahangir Hossain targets Dhaka-18 (wards 1, 17, 43 through 54 of DNCC, along with the Airport area). He is committed to making Dhaka-18 free from terrorism, extortion, and drugs.
Jamaat-e-Islami candidates connect in DNCC
Jamaat candidate Saiful Alam Milon seeks Dhaka-12. He pledged to ensure education, employment, and security, with a zero-tolerance policy against violence.
Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman in Dhaka-14 constituency has pledged to ensure accountability of public representatives if he is elected in the upcoming election.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in Dhaka-15 constituency has said his aim is to build a new Bangladesh grounded in justice and fairness.
Col. (Retd.) Abdul Baten for Dhaka-16 has pledged that if his first focus will be on the medical services for the common people of his constituency.
SM Khaliduzzaman in Dhaka-17 has promised improvements to the health sector under Jamaat-e-Islami leadership.
NCP candidates shape DNCC outreach
Nahid Islam fights for Dhaka-11 comprising Rampura, Badda, Bhatara and parts of Hatirjheel. He pledged that if elected, the land-grabbing syndicates in Dhaka-11 would be eliminated permanently.
He said February 12 would give people an opportunity to defeat land grabbers, extortionists, terrorists and loan defaulters through ballots.
Ariful Islam Adeep covers electoral campaign in the Dhaka-18 constituency.
He has pledged to transform Uttara into a “planned, safe, and just city,” proposing a government hospital to address disparities in civic services, specialised task forces for business security, and dedicated buses for women.
