Director disappointed with not getting hall, Moushumi’s ‘Ordhangini’ to be released on YouTube

Popular film actress Moushumi has been in the United States for almost three years. There, Syed R Emon have made a movie titled ‘Ordhangini’ with the actress.

The director wanted to release the movie in Bangladesh as well as the United States.

However, director Emon did not get a positive response from the theatre owners in any country. Disappointed, he decided to release ‘Ordhangini’ on YouTube.

Syed R Emon said, “We had planned to release the movie in 2024. Then there was a mass uprising in July and political unrest in Bangladesh.

Then due to various complications, we had to postpone the release date. We are not getting theaters in the USA either. Ramadan will start in a few days.

Our sponsors don’t want to wait any longer. So, we have decided to release the movie directly on YouTube instead of releasing it in theatres.”

Director also said that despite contacting distributors in Bangladesh several times, he didn’t receive any positive response.

Therefore, the film is being planned to be released on YouTube channel BD Films USA before Eid.

Basically ‘Ordhangini’ is based on a social and family story and its story revolves around Moushumi.

Syed Emon said, “With time, the definition of human life is changing. The nature of life’s struggle is also changing.

Now, people do not come forward in times of danger. The story of the movie was created with this thought.”

The shooting of ‘Ordhangini’ took place in New York and New Jersey in USA. Everyone had to struggle shooting in the intense winter.

In this regard, he said, “Everyone struggled shooting. Especially Moushumi Apa is not used to the American winter.

Yet, I’m still amazed to think how she shot in a saree for eight hours in a mountain in a strong wind at a temperature of minus 16 degrees Celsius.”

However, Syed Emon added that shooting of ‘Ordhangini’ began with the plan to make it a telefilm. After the production, a premiere show of the film was held in USA.

At that time, its length was 1 hour and 20 minutes. Later, it was decided to release it.

After new additions and deletions, the length of the movie has become 1 hour and 56 minutes.

Apart from Moushumi, the film also stars Tariqul Islam Mithu, who is an expatriate in USA, Jolly Ahmed, Sarwar Premel, Sumit Chowdhury, Nowshin Mridula, Joy Chowdhury and many others.

The film was produced by Tariqul Islam Mithu and music was arranged by Mehedi Hasan Tamjid.
