‘Even though I’m Nepalese by heritage, I don’t consider myself outside Bangladesh’ Pinky Chhetri
Entertainment Report :
Pinky Chhetri is a Nepali-born vocalist, content creator and entrepreneur. Recently, she has been garnering praise from the audience by releasing her solo song titled ‘Bhab Taranga’ on her YouTube channel.
Apart from this, she has always been in the discussion through creating public awareness and inspiring video content.
Regarding talking about her this solo, Pinky said, “The song ‘Bhab Taranga’ was planned in 2020, when everyone was under house arrest due to the fear of Corona.
The situation was such that even after planning a new song, I couldn’t move forward with the work. So, the song remained on hold for a few years.
Finally, one day Moon Bhai (music arranger Autumnal Moon) said, let’s finish the song without leaving it. Even after saying this, I didn’t want to record the song, because my voice was stuck.
Even then, at the composer’s request, I went to the studio and gave a dummy voice.
But to my surprise, Moon Bhai said, ‘It feels good to hear the voice recorded as a dummy. There is no need to record it again, this is the finale.’”
“As an artiste, I always want to sing songs that have good lyrics and sweet melodies.
That’s why I make a lot of judgments about the lyrics, melody, and musical arrangement before singing any song.
The song ‘Bhab Taranga’ was no exception. This song was written by Autumnal Moon himself, along with lyricist Kazi Ashraf.
He also composed the melody and musical arrangement.
From a place of trust, I left the judgment of whether the singing of this song was good or bad to Moon Bhai,” she also said.
“I have always believed in healthy competition.
I did not sing for the sake of fame, nor did I want to increase the number of songs. The tendency to go viral that is seen in everyone in this era was not there at all.
I have received many tempting offers in the world of music. But I did not respond because I did not want cheap popularity. I can only say that a duet song with Imran Mahmudul will be released.
Apart from this, I can’t say right now whether any other songs will be released this year,” Pinky added.
Pinky further said, “A few years ago, there was a competition for presenters on NTV. After winning there, I started thinking about creating content.
The people who encouraged me said that since I sing songs, I can also present various topics through words.
I have tried my best to learn the language properly just to sing Bengali songs. I have been in Bangladesh for 20 years.
My father, mother, two sisters, and one brother have blended in with the soil and people of this country.
I also studied in colleges and universities here. So learning the Bengali language before and after was the demand of the time.”
Regarding talking about staying in Bangladesh permanently, Pinky Chhetri replied, “I have repeatedly wanted to settle in Bangladesh. Of course, I’m still in the process of going back and forth between Nepal and Bangladesh.
Even then, whenever the question comes up – whether I want to settle in Bangladesh or not, my answer will always be ‘yes’ because, even though I’m Nepalese by heritage, I don’t consider myself outside Bangladesh.”
