BNP, Jamaat will vie in Natore-4 seat

Jamaat and BNP are desperate to capture the Natore-4 (Gurdaspur-Baraigram) parliamentary seat in the 13th National Parliament election. 5 candidates are contesting in this seat. Among them, Jamaat’s Maulana Abdul Hakim Dari-Palla, BNP’s Abdul Aziz Dhaner Sheesh, Jatiya Party’s Yusuf Ahmed Langol, AB Party’s Mokchedul Momin Eagle and Islami Andolan’s Emdadullah are campaigning in the field with the symbol of hand fan.
Although, there are 5 candidates in this seat, the vote-battle will happen between Jamaat and BNP.
The candidates are going door-to-door with voters in the last phase of the election in this seat. The candidates have been campaigning every day through village-to-village, door-to-door visits to voters in groups, miking in markets, distributing leaflets, etc. since the symbol was given. The election atmosphere is now at its peak in the last phase of the campaign. Both Jamaat and BNP have taken program in the expectation of victory.
According to reliable sources, Awami League has previously been elected to the post of member of parliament six times in this constituency, BNP three times and Jatiya Party candidate twice. It is noteworthy that Awami League candidate has been elected more times in this constituency.
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina government, Awami League is now out of the field. As a result, the fight on the field will be between the two long-time allies BNP and Jamaat. However, many believe that who will have the last laugh depends to some extent on the voters of the Awami family.
District BNP senior joint convener Abdul Aziz was previously UP Chairman three times and Gurudaspur Upazila Chairman once.
On the other hand, Professor Maulana Abdul Hakim is the Assistant Secretary of Natore District Jamaat. He served as the Vice Chairman of BaraigramUpazilaParishad and later as the Acting Upazila Chairman. Before that, he was elected as Ward Councilor of Bonpara Municipality twice. Both candidates have considerable recognition and reputation in both Gurdaspur and BaraigramUpazilas.
The total number of voters in this constituency is 4 lakh 43 thousand 600. Of these, there are 253,372 voters in Baraigram and 190,228 in Gurdaspur. Out of 167 polling stations in this constituency, voters will cast their votes at 99 centers in Baraigramupazila and 68 centers in Gurdaspurupazila.
