‘No one will be exempted if election is engineered’

A senior Senator Sheikh Mujahidur Rahman Chandan( a three-time elected senator from the US state of Georgia) has warned that no kind of ‘election engineering’ will be tolerated in 13 th national election of Bangladesh.
He made these remarks in response to a question from reporters after attending a public rally of independent (BNP rebel) candidate Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Iqbal with the duck symbol at Bajitpur Dakbungalo ground on Saturday afternoon.
Senator Sheikh Mujahidur Rahman Chandan said, “If there is any engineering here, then there is a problem. I will not give anyone any concessions. I will not allow engineering to happen. That is why I came here. As long as I am here, no engineering will be done in this area.”
He is the elder brother of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Iqbal, an independent candidate for Kishoreganj-5 ( Bajitpur – Nikli) constituency.
Regarding Bangladesh-US relations, he said, ‘America’s relations with Bangladesh have always been good, and they are still good. Many things are heard in the media, but the reality is different. The relations will be better in the coming days.’
“Big politicians in America make decisions by talking to people like us.
I don’t want the country to be bad, I want the country to be good. As a child of the country, I have always wanted the country to be good, I still want it, and I will want it in the future.”
He also said, “Voting is your right and responsibility. Everyone, regardless of party affiliation, will go to vote.”
Hundreds of people from municipalities and various unions took part in the public meeting. Local leaders and activists, including independent candidate Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Iqbal, were present at the meeting.
