‘No deal on justice for Hadi’s killing’

Staff Reporter :

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam said on Friday vowed that they would not compromise with the demand of justice of the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Nahid said it in a Facebook post. In his post, Nahid wrote: “There will be no compromise, not even an inch, on the question of justice for the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi.

A disgraceful police attack has taken place on the peaceful programme of Inqilab Mancha, which was organised to demand investigation and trial of Hadi’s killing under the supervision of the United Nations.

Several leaders and activists of Inqilab Mancha have been injured in this attack. We strongly condemn and protest the attack.

Members of the law enforcement agencies displayed extreme unprofessionalism in dealing with the peaceful programme of Inqilab Mancha.

We demand action against those responsible. We call upon the government to accept all the justified demands of Inqilab Mancha.”

Along with the Facebook post, he shared a video of his speech delivered at an election rally in Savar for the Dhaka-19 constituency. Speaking at the rally held in the morning, he said: “On the question of justice for Hadi, we will not give up even an inch.

Since last night, we have seen Hadi’s family staging a sit-in in front of Jamuna, demanding justice.

We want to clearly tell this interim government that failure to ensure justice for Hadi and failure to arrest the killers will be recorded in history as one of the major failures of this interim government. There is still time.

The interim government must take effective initiatives to ensure this extremely just trial and ensure that no form of disrespect is shown to the family of Sharif Osman Hadi.”
