Thalapathy Vijay involved in tax evasion case

South superstar and ‘Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK)’ Chief Thalapathy Vijay is not having a good time.

The actor has been facing a major setback in an income tax case after the stay order was imposed on his film ‘Jananayagan’.

The Madras High Court has upheld the fine of Rs 1.5 crore imposed on Vijay for tax evasion.

On Friday, a single bench of Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy dismissed Vijay’s writ petition.

According to the court’s observation, the fine imposed by the Income Tax Department for concealing income in the financial year 2015-16 was imposed in accordance with the law.
