BNP’s final polls rally in Dhaka on Feb 8

Staff Reporter :

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold its final election rally in the capital on Sunday, February 8, ahead of the upcoming national polls.

The programme is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, where BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will address the gathering as the chief guest.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed disclosed the details to journalists on Thursday morning following a joint meeting at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters.

Rizvi said all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure the success of the final rally.

He added that along with Tarique Rahman’s speech, BNP candidates from Dhaka and surrounding constituencies will also attend the event.

Voicing optimism about a peaceful election environment, Rizvi expressed hope that voters would be able to cast their ballots freely and without intimidation.

He noted that BNP has historically formed governments with the backing of the people and asserted that the party has remained resilient despite facing intense repression.

“The people do not view the sheaf of paddy merely as an electoral symbol-it represents their emotions. Inspired by that sentiment, voters will exercise their franchise on February 12,” Rizvi said.
