Grand welcome rally held ahead of Tarique’s visit

A colorful welcome procession was held in Nilphamari town in anticipation of the arrival of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The rally took place on Tuesday afternoon and passed through the main roads of the town with the spontaneous participation of a large number of party leaders, activists, young women, and female students.
The procession started from the town’s central point, marched along several major streets, and ended at the same location. Participants chanted slogans such as “Vote for Sheaf of Paddy,” “Bangladesh Zindabad,” and “Move Forward Tarique Rahman, We Are With You.” Party flags, banners, and festoons were displayed throughout the march, creating a festive atmosphere across the town.
Local BNP leaders and activists joined the rally under the leadership of district BNP figure Redwan Haque Babu. Among those present was local leader Shahrin Islam Tuhin, along with leaders and members from different tiers of the BNP and its affiliated organizations. In a brief address, Shahorin Islam Tuhin emphasized the need to strengthen party unity and organizational structure and urged everyone to work together in the party’s upcoming political programs.
District BNP leader Redwan Haque Babu said there was widespread enthusiasm and excitement among party leaders and activists surrounding Tarique Rahman’s arrival. He also expressed satisfaction that the procession concluded peacefully and in an orderly manner.
It is noteworthy that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh from London on December 25, 2025. His visit to Nilphamari marks his first election campaign trip to the district in nearly 17 years, generating a celebratory mood among supporters across the area.
