Inqilab Mancho to publish lists of dual citizens
Staff Reporter :
Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, Inqilab Mancha has announced that it will publish the names and photographs of candidates nominated by various political parties who hold dual citizenship or are loan defaulters. The organisation said the campaign will begin from Saturday.
The announcement was made by Inqilab Mancha’s Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber, during a protest rally and march held after Friday prayers on Friday at the Central Mosque of Dhaka University, demanding justice for the killing of Shaheed Osman Hadi.
He said that Inqilab Mancha will publish detailed information—including names, loan amounts, constituencies, and photographs—of all loan defaulters who have been nominated for election by different political parties. At the same time, the organisation will urge the public not to vote for these candidates.
Abdullah Al Jaber further stated that the names and constituency details of candidates with dual citizenship who are contesting in this election will also be made public. He said they do not want to hand over the responsibility of running the state to people who may flee abroad if the country faces a crisis after coming to power.
Expressing support for a “Yes” vote in the referendum, he said the people of Bangladesh have been presented with a historic opportunity—to take state power into their own hands. He called on the people to use the July referendum to place state power in the hands of ordinary citizens, including rickshaw pullers, van drivers, CNG drivers, garment workers, and the general public.
He further said that the people of Bangladesh will make no more compromises when it comes to the question of independence. He added that a nation that has learned to shed blood and knows how to take to the battlefield has no reason to look back.
Abdullah Al Jaber said, “Inqilab means revolution, Inqilab means struggle. This struggle is not only that of Inqilab Mancha—it is the struggle of the people of Bangladesh.”
Describing July as a symbol of Bangladesh’s liberation, he said July represents freedom of borders and freedom of sovereignty. He declared that this struggle will continue until July is fully established in the reality of Bangladesh.
