Free medical camp held for fishermen

A 4-day medical camp for the fishermen at Dublarchar fish drying village under the Eastern Division of Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district) ended on Wednesday. More than 300 fishermen received treatment in 4 days.
The Eastern Division of Sundarbans organized this medical camp. According to the Forest Department, the dry season is currently underway at Dublarchar region.
More than ten thousand fishermen are engaged in catching and drying fish in the Bay of Bengal.
There is no medical facility for the fishermen due to the illness.
For this reason the Sundarbans Division has taken measures to provide free medical treatment to the fishermen.
Freedom-fighter Md. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, president of Dubla Fishermen Group from Alorkol, Dublarchar told over mobile phone on Wednesday afternoon that a 4-day a free medical camp organized by Sundarbans Division ended on the day (Wednesday) afternoon at Narikelbaria char (Island).
The work of the medical camp started on January 25 in Shelarchar, on January 26 and 27, patients were seen at the medical camp in Dublarchar’s Alorkol and finally on January 28, Narikelbaria char (Island). More than 300 fishermen received medical service in 4 days.
