Arijit reveals reason for his sudden retirement

India’s most popular singer Arijit Singh broke the hearts of millions of fans on Tuesday night with a sudden announcement on social media.
The two-time National Award-winning artiste announced that he is retiring from films and playback singing. He surprised everyone by announcing this decision while wishing his fans a happy new year.
The announcement came on the heels of the success of the song ‘Matribhumi’ from the recently released Salman Khan film ‘Battle of Galwan’. According to those close to Arijit, they are not surprised by this decision.
A screenshot of a personal X account of the singer has gone viral, where he writes – “There are not one but many reasons behind this. I actually get bored or bored with something very quickly.
That is why I change the arrangement of the same song again and again in concerts. Simply put, I am bored with film music.”
Although he gained recognition through the reality show ‘Fame Gurukul’ in 2005, his playback journey began with the Telugu film ‘KD’ in 2010. However, Arijit became an overnight star with the film ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013.
He has sung more than 800 songs in the last 15 years, which means he has done an average of about 53 songs a year. Apart from this, he feels tired of directing music for films like ‘Paglait’ and doing live shows in the country and abroad.
Arijit feels more comfortable recording songs in his studio in Murshidabad, away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. He is rarely seen at celebrity parties or in media interviews.
According to those close to him, Arijit has reached the pinnacle of fame and has earned a lot of money. But this decision is to get rid of the limitations of producers-directors and market demands in the field of film songs.
Arijit Singh is not quitting singing. He clarified in his post, “I am not taking any new playback assignments. I am taking myself off the film so that I can compose songs on my own terms.”
A large section of fans feel that this is the beginning of a new chapter in Arijit’s career. Even after quitting playback, he will continue to compose melodies independently.
Although Arijit has taken a break as a singer for the time being, his fans believe that his magical voice will return in another form, in another tune.
