Bangladesh Government allow shooting team to travel to India

The Bangladesh government didn’t send national cricket team to the ICC T20 World Cup in India due to security concerns. But the Bangladesh Ministry of Youth and Sports has allowed them to participate in the Asian Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championships to be held in Delhi.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports issued a Government Order (GO) for the shooting team to visit India on Wednesday. This competition will be held from February 2 to 14.
The government believes that there will be no major security risks as the competition will be held indoors and in a protected area.
“The Bangladesh team has one player and one coach, small team. The local organisers have assured us that there will be no security issues. The competition will be indoors and in a protected area. As a result, it is expected that there will be no security crisis,” said Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Wednesday.
“It is expected that there will be no security crisis. The government has given permission to the shooting team to go to India after considering all aspects.” Shooters Rabiul Islam, is the representative of Bangladesh and He will be accompanied by national coach Sharmin Akter.
Rabiul Islam has a special passport as a Navy athlete, he will be able to stay in India for seven days without a visa. However, Sharmin will have to get a visa.
Rabiul said, we have to carry weapons and bullets. That’s why approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs is also required.
Bangladesh team scheduled to leave for Delhi on January 31. This will be the Shooting Federation’s first international participation after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
