Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, BNP-nominated candidate for the Natore-1 (Lalpur–Bagatipara) constituency, Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul, contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol, carried out extensive door-to-door campaigning and street meetings.
The day-long election campaign began at 11:00 am on Monday in various areas of Bagatipara Union of Bagatipara upazila. During the campaign, she held street meetings and exchanged views with local residents in different villages and neighborhoods, including the homes of Ward No. 9 Jamshed Member and Hafiz Member, as well as Baropukuria, Kasba, Boro Bagha, Nurpur, Khidr Malanchi, Kakpho, Tatonpara, Jogipara, among others.
Addressing the street meetings, Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul said, “We who belong to the Sheaf of Paddy, who carry BNP in our hearts and souls, vote for the Sheaf of Paddy because of an ideology—an ideology that contributes to nation-building. Shaheed Zia, Khaleda Zia, and Fazlur Rahman Patol, who was once the MP of this area, are no longer alive.”
She said, “The Bangladesh we want to build in the future will be a safe Bangladesh, a humane Bangladesh. This election is extremely important for restoring the people’s voting rights and democracy. If votes are cast for the Sheaf of Paddy, every family will be given a family card, women’s social security will be ensured, and employment opportunities will be created for unemployed youth.”
She further said that if BNP comes to power, the rule of law, freedom of expression, and justice will be established.
Present at the election campaign were Bagatipara upazila BNP convener Mosharraf Hossain; former convener of Bagatipara Union BNP Md. Mahadev Uddin; member secretary Hafizur Rahman; and leaders and activists of BNP along with its associate and affiliated organizations at the upazila and union levels.
