‘There will be no drugs, terrorism and extortionists in Savar’

Former MP of Dhaka-19 Dr. Dewan Md. Salauddin Babu said,Many people are involved in drug dealing, extortion and terrorism in the area and they are even in our procession. There will be no place for any terrorist, extortionist or drug dealer who does these bad things in BNP. He said these things while attending the women’s rally organized by BNP and its affiliates in Pathalia Union, Savar on Monday afternoon and delivering his speech as the chief guest.

Salauddin Babu said, there is no need to call the police, I am enough to solve these problems. The Awami League has fallen due to extortion, terrorism and oppression. If we cannot do good work, then we will also have to say goodbye.

He also said, I was on the run for 17 years, was in jail 3 times, 53 cases, and I do not want to be on the run anymore. We want to be with the people, we want to live with the love of the people. For this, we have to take care that no one around us is involved in extortion or terrorism. But no concession will be given to those who do wrong.

Addressing the leaders and activists, he said, “Our leader has been coming to the country after 17 years of hard work, he knows this too. If he waits, he will make such tough arrangements, give us responsibilities in every area, we will also not have jobs. You will vote, the party also has a job, but that will not be there if we cannot stop these misdeeds.

There will be no drug business in the area. I will take a hundred days, during which I will talk to the higher authorities of the police and with their cooperation and with the party leaders and activists, I will try to stop the drug, terrorism and extortionists from these activities. No such people will be on our stage, will not be in our processions and will not have any posts or titles in the future.

We want 1400 students and the public to be martyred, 24,000 injured, their lives and sacrifices cannot go in vain. I was a two-time MP, I am leaving government service to enter politics. I have survived 17 years of imprisonment, oppression, and torture, now if I cannot do any good work, then what is the benefit of me being an MP? I have been an MP twice, you will understand the difference between this time’s MP and the previous MP after the 12th.
If I am elected, we will reduce this traffic jam within a month. We will recruit volunteers in every place who will have clothes, liaise with the police, train them and assign them to the points where traffic jams occur.

At the Savar Bazar bus stand, businesses are occupying the highway and sidewalks, women cannot walk on the roads, the markets are being damaged. There may be one line on the sidewalk, so they will take money again with 5 lines, that bad name will come on the party, there will be no syndicate. If someone goes to build a house, they will have to pay a donation, they will have to pay for the brick and sand work, what the Awami League has done cannot be done.

Addressing women, he said, you get widow allowance, maternity allowance and TCB cards, the number of which is very small. If we come to power, we will increase the number of these. Maximum cooperation will be provided for the education of boys and girls.
