Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has directed all police personnel to wear body-worn cameras while performing duties in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election to ensure transparency, accountability, and neutrality.

Speaking at a pre-election briefing held at the Civic Centre of the Chattogram District Police Lines on Saturday, the IGP said all officers must strictly ensure the use of body-worn cameras during election duty, noting that the initiative would significantly strengthen transparency and accountability.

He also stressed the importance of technology-driven policing to enhance public trust, especially during sensitive periods such as elections.

In his welcome address, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan underscored the need for professionalism and political neutrality, emphasizing that the police must guarantee a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Additional IGP Hasib Aziz highlighted the importance of inter-unit coordination, urban security, and the effective use of modern technology to manage election operations.

In his closing remarks, Chattogram Range DIG Additional IGP Ahsan Habib Palash urged all units to strictly follow the IGP’s directives, maintain discipline, and perform election duties with patience and impartiality.
