Ten-party alliance to rebuild country: Mamunul Haque

Staff Reporter :

Allama Mamunul Haque, the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis–nominated candidate of the ten-party electoral alliance for Dhaka-13 constituency, held an election rally bringing together the families of the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War, the 2013 Shapla Chattar incident, and the 2024 mass uprising.

In his speech, he said that the defeated forces are trying to place the July 2024 revolution in confrontation with the spirit of 1971. “We must stand united to resist this conspiracy. To counter this plot, the leadership of 2024 and the Islamic and patriotic forces of Bangladesh have formed a ten-party electoral alliance to safeguard the country and to rebuild it anew on the aspirations of the revolutions of 1947, 1971, and 2024,” he said.

He further stated that a certain party is openly speaking in favor of a ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum, while covertly working in favor of a ‘No.’ “Through such duplicity and hypocrisy, attempts may be made to divide the nation, but the Bangladesh of the future cannot be suppressed, Insha’Allah. The desired liberation of the nation cannot be achieved through hypocritical and deceptive politics.”

Declaring Mohammodpur, Adabar, and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar free from terrorism, extortion, oppression, and drugs, Allama Mamunul Haque said that the unity of those committed to justice and fairness has been established.

“With the rickshaw symbol, we will go door to door to the people. Everyone in Dhaka-13 has become united. Insha’Allah, the politics of division is coming to an end; it will be a united Bangladesh. We will say only what we can do, and whatever we say, we will implement with our lives, Insha’Allah.”

Speaking at the rally, NCP Joint Member Secretary Hafez Akram Hossain said, “I was on remand together with Allama Mamunul Haque, and I saw with my own eyes how he was tortured.

When I heard that he was a candidate in Dhaka-13, I decided from that very day that Mamunul Haque must be made victorious on the 12th. He is a man who can be trusted with eyes closed.”

Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan North Shura member Dr. Shafiur Rahman said that although promises of a developed and humane state reflecting the aspirations of the masses have repeatedly been made since independence, the people have been deceived every time.

“The previous government tried to sell off this independence. To protect that independence and to build a new Bangladesh, we must make the ten-party electoral alliance’s candidate, Allama Mamunul Haque, victorious,” he said.
The rally was presided over by Mufti Ashrafuzzaman, Convenor of the Ten-Party Electoral Liaison Committee, and jointly conducted by Maulana Naimul Haque Azizi, Maulana Abdullah Ashraf, and Maulana Al Abid Shakir.
Speakers at the rally included Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Central Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Yusuf Ashraf; Joint Secretary General Tofazzal Hossain Miazi; Ten-Party Electoral Liaison Committee member and Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan North Shura member Dr. Shafiur Rahman; NCP Joint Member Secretary Akram Hossain; Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Dhaka Metropolitan member Motaleb Khan; 1971 freedom fighter Abdus Sattar; Bacchu Mia, father of a Shapla Chattar martyr; Firoz, father of a martyr of the 2024 mass uprising; Dhaka Metropolitan South Vice President Maulana Ilias Hamidi; Liaison Committee member Maulana Murshidul Alam Siddiqui; NCP Mohammadpur Thana Joint Coordinator Advocate Lutfur Kabir; Abu Sufian; and Jubo Majlis President Maulana Zahiduzzaman.
