CPA sports association holds annual sports competition

The Annual Sports Competition-2026 organized by Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) Sports Association was held at Shaheed Engineer Shamsuzzaman Stadium (Port Stadium) on Wednesday.

Honorable Chairman of CPA Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman, OSP, NDC, NCC, PSC inaugurated the annual sports competition as the chief guest. In his speech, the chief guest said – the importance of sports is immense and an essential medium for staying physically and mentally healthy. When the body is healthy, the mind is also calm and cheerful. Through sports competitions/ sports, a sense of discipline and brotherhood is developed among everyone.

He emphasized on the participation of students participating in the parade in sports for the mental development of students. The opening ceremony was attended by the special guests of CPA Member (Harbor and Marine) Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah, (G), BSP, PSC, BN, Member (Engineering) Commodore Md. Mazharul Islam Jewel (E), PSC, President of CPA Sports Association and Director (Administration) of CPA Mr. Md. Omar Faruk and General Secretary of CPA Sports Association and Port Secretary Mr. Mohammad Azizul Maula. After the competition in various events throughout the day, prizes were distributed among the winners of the competition. Mrs. Irene Zaman, Chief Patron of Port Women’s Association, was present as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
