Shab-e-Barat on Feb 3

Holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the night of February 3, as the moon of the month of Shaban was not sighted in the country on Monday.

Since the moon was not visible, the holy month of Shaban will begin on January 21, placing Shab-e-Barat on February 3.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held on Monday evening at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office, with Religious Affairs Ministry Secretary Kamal Uddin presiding.
