CMP bars 330 individuals from Ctg

The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has imposed restrictions on 330 individuals labeled as criminals, barring them from entering or staying in the city to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
The directive was issued on Saturday through a public notice signed by CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz.
The list includes top criminals such as Boro Sajjad, who is reportedly abroad, Choto Sajjad, and Burma Saiful, who are currently in jail.
It also features several political figures, including former mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, former minister Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former MP Fazle Karim, former councillor Esrarul Hoque, and former Chhatra League leader Nurul Azam Rony, among others.
The notice cites Sections 40, 41, and 43 of the CMP Ordinance, which empower police to take preventive measures to protect lives, property, and public security. Individuals on the list have been ordered to leave the Chattogram metropolitan area immediately and are prohibited from returning until further notice.
CMP Assistant Commissioner (PR and Media) Aminur Rashid confirmed that all listed individuals are involved in criminal activities of varying severity.
“Everyone on this list is linked to crimes, both minor and serious. They are habitual offenders, and police preventive records exist against each of them,” he said.
The move, he explained, aims to ensure public safety, strengthen law and order, and prevent disruptions ahead of upcoming elections.
“This step has been taken under the lawful authority of the police commissioner so that elections can proceed smoothly, without obstruction or intimidation,” Aminur added.
While some of the listed individuals are currently in jail, others remain in different locations. Police have warned that any violators will face immediate legal action, including additional charges on top of their existing cases.
CMP is conducting drives to apprehend the barred individuals wherever they are found, inside or outside the metropolitan area.
