BD’s Doha embassy issues warning
Staff Reporter :
The Bangladesh Embassy in Doha has issued an urgent advisory, warning expatriates about fraudulent individuals and institutions in Qatar who are embezzling significant sums of money from citizens seeking to migrate to Europe and America.
According to a notification released by the embassy on Wednesday night, January 14, these scammers are luring Bangladeshis with the false promise of a “dreamy improved life” in Western nations. The embassy reported that many expatriates, driven by these temptations, have spent vast amounts of money only to be defrauded and left destitute.
Several victims have already filed formal complaints with the Bangladesh Embassy regarding these deceptive practices, highlighting the scale of the financial exploitation.
In light of these events, the embassy is urging all expatriates to exercise maximum caution before handing over any amount of money to any person or organisation for the purpose of moving to Europe or America.
Officials stressed the importance of remaining vigilant to avoid falling prey to these deceptive tactics and financial traps.
