Al Islah’s central leader Numan, 17 associates jailed in terror case

There has been a sensation against Numan Ahmed, the former principal of Darul Uloom Islamia Kamil (MA) Madrasa in Sylhet, for massive irregularities, corruption and abuse of power, embezzlement of government funds and acquisition of illegal wealth.

After talking to the teaching staff, management, committee, students and locals of the institution, it was learned that he had embezzled crores of taka from students in various fees. On July 2, 2015, a report on Numan Ahmed’s corruption was published in the Jugantar newspaper.

In addition, on December 13, 1999, Numan Ahmed was appointed as an Arabic lecturer. But information has revealed that he was appointed as an Arabic lecturer without fulfilling the condition of minimum quorum of 3 people participating in the examination.

The incident is clearly against the recruitment policy.Later in 2010, he was illegally appointed as the principal. But without gaining 15 years of experience, he obtained the post of principal illegally, which is against government policy.

It has been learned that the former fascist has the favor of people close to Hasina. Principal Numan used to operate the savings bank account of the organization in the name of Noman Ahmed with a single signature, completely outside his jurisdiction.
Which is completely illegal according to government policy.
In August 2022, Numan Ahmed showed4,47,703 taka for other expenses in the management of his organization. This is a big proof of his arbitrariness and corruption.

Further information has been learned that the donor member made the purchase of the madrasa’s car and other rules outside the law in a tantrik way. Although the first landowner Kalimullah and later Asaddar Ali and the founder, the great Maulvi Qasim Ali, were there, he excluded them to facilitate his corruption.
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina in the student movement after August 5, he also covered his body.
Later, a case (105/2024) was filed under the Speedy Trial Act in the case of entering the madrasa with an armed group in a terrorist manner and attacking innocent students and locals. In this case, on January 12, 26 English surrendered and sent him and his 17 associates to jail by the Senior Judicial Magistrate First Court, Sylhet. Meanwhile, on December 30, 2024, a hearing was held by the Madrasa Education Department on various charges against him.
In view of this, as the charges were proven, a decision was taken to temporarily stop his salary and allowance from December 2025 English. His associates in prison are: Noman Ahmed, 47, son of the deceased Ishaq Ahmed; Md. Mizanur Rahman (25), son of the deceased Habibur Rahman alias Nunu Mia; Md. Faruk Mia (60), son of the deceased Shafiq Ali; Islam Uddin (27), son of the deceased Shafiq Ali; Md. Awal Hossain Parvez (27), son of Manik Mia; Sheikh Md. Qalmadar Ali; Sheikh Md. Hussain Ahmed (26), son of the deceased Faruk Mia; Abdullah Al Masum (23), son of the deceased Ishaq Tofail Ahmed; Md. Naeem Uddin Sahan (50), son of the deceased Abdul Khaliq; Md. Zila Mia (52), son of the deceased Loylu Mia; Md. Sayef Ahmed Shayek (49), son of Makhlib Mia; Md. Masum Mia (29), son of Md. Habibur Rahman alias Shutta Mia; Minhazur Rahman (24), Manik Mia’s son Madadul Haque Sayem Mia (30), Mutlib Mia’s son Abdus Tufan alias Farid Mia (34), Md. Tajuddin’s son Md. Kamal Uddin (26), Md. Waris Uddin’s son Nias Uddin (29). All the accused are residents of Bishwanath Upazila of Sylhet.
