The FIFA World Cup trophy arrived in the city on Wednesday. The famous soft drink company Coca Cola arranged the tour of World Cup trophy in Bangladesh.
The FIFA World Cup trophy arrived in Dhaka at 10:00am. Former defensive midfielder of Brazil Gilbarto da Silva brought the FIFA World Cup trophy in Dhaka as the representative of FIFA, the highest governing body of world football. Gilbarto da Silva was a player of Brazil National Football team, which clinched the FIFA World Cup trophy in 2002.
Bangladesh never ever played in the FIFA World Cup. Even Bangladesh never went to close to take part in the FIFA World Cup. But there are a craze in Bangladesh for football. It is the most popular game in Bangladesh. A large number of spectators of Bangladesh watched the FIFA World Cup through television since 1982.
The crazy fans of the country got chance to watch the FIFA World Cup trophy as part of their dream. Earlier, the FIFA World Cup trophy arrived in Dhaka for three times. The football lovers of the country got chance to watch the FIFA World Cup trophy in front of it.
After the arrival of FIFA World Cup trophy, Captain of Bangladesh National Football team Jamal Bhuyan, officials of Bangladesh Football Federation and officials of Coca Cola received the FIFA World Cup trophy.
The FIFA World Cup will kick-off at the Azteka Stadium in Mexico on June 11.
The United States of America, Canada and Mexico will be the host of FIFA World Cup, which is called ‘The Greatest Show on the Earth’. The FIFA World Cup trophy has been touring to increase the craze of gala extravaganza.
After receiving the FIFA World Cup trophy it was set up at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka.
It may be mentioned that Coca Cola company of Bangladesh chapter arranged a promo campaign for the spectators, who would be allowed to watch the FIFA World Cup at a near distance.
But no one got permission to touch the FIFA World Cup trophy. The exhibition of FIFA World Cup trophy at the Hotel came to an end before the evening. After that the FIFA World Cup trophy left the city.
