BD Diasporas in Iraq hold doa mahfil for Khaleda

A doa mahfil was held on Friday evening in Baghdad, Iraq, under the initiative of the Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Organisation in Iraq, seeking forgiveness and eternal peace for the departed soul of late Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The doa mahfil was presided over by Khorshed Alam Majid, president of the Bangladesh Expatriate Welfare Organisation in Iraq, and conducted by its general secretary Md Yachin.

Expatriate hafiz and cleric Maulana Kabir led the prayers, offering special supplications for the forgiveness of the soul of late Begum Khaleda Zia.

Among those present at the doa mahfil were Sabir Khan, Ujjal Hossain Bishal, Md Sohel Rana, Iraq Ali, Monir, Jobayer, Rubel, Masud, Zakir, Nurullah, Mintu, Abdul Quddus, Helal, Mukul Mizan and Jaydas, among others.

During the prayers, supplications were made for the forgiveness of the soul of late Begum Khaleda Zia and for her place in Jannatul Firdaus.

Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that the anti-autocracy movement leader and former head of government, late Begum Khaleda Zia, made unparalleled contributions to protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty, as well as to the development of the nation, the state and democracy.

They added that the people of the country will always remember her patriotism and her tireless contributions to safeguarding national interests.
