CCC mayor honours Khaleda’s legacy

The contribution of three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in building the economic foundation of modern Chattogram will be especially memorable in history, said Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain.

The mayor made this comment at a prayer and milad mahfil organized by the mosque committee at Shahi Jame Mosque, Chawkbazar City Corporation, on Friday after Maghrib for the repose of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul.

He said that through industrialization, export-oriented economy and infrastructural expansion, she initiated economic changes in the lives of the people of Chattogram.

The mayor said that Begum Khaleda Zia is generally known as a strong-willed and uncompromising political leader.

Her stand against dictatorship, her role in the movement to restore democracy and her long-standing anti-fascist struggle have made her a symbol of democracy in the minds of the people.
