Life in Moulvibazar has been brought to a standstill due to the bitter cold and icy winds in the past few days.

The lowest temperature on Friday was 11.0 degrees Celsius. Sunshine was seen throughout the day on Friday.

The intensity of the cold increased in the morning and afternoon. The rural and working class people suffered the most due to the cold and cold wind.

The Srimangal Meteorological Observatory in Moulvibazar Senior Assistant Anisur Rahman said that the temperature on December 30 was 14.6 degrees Celsius, and on December 31, the temperature was 12.2 degrees Celsius, but the lowest temperature recorded on the first day of the year was 9.6 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature on Friday, January 2, was 11.0 degrees Celsius.

The temperature here is gradually decreasing. According to past records, the temperature may drop further.

Children and adults continue to be regularly admitted to various hospitals in the district, including Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital, due to cold-related diseases. The crowd of low-and middle-income people in warm clothing shops is increasing every day.

Patients with cold-related diseases Dr. Muktadir Hussain said that despite the increase in the number, the pressure on the hospital is a little less, and all private clinics in the district are now providing good treatment for cold-related diseases. Many people have received three-day treatment from the clinic.

Are recovering those who are a little sicker and need oxygen are being admitted to government hospitals. People living in areas surrounded by hills, haors, and tea gardens have been devastated by the bitter cold.
