Jaya’s new film ‘OCD’ to be released in theatres on Feb 6

Jaya Ahsan’s movies have been released regularly in theatres in both Bangladesh and West Bengal throughout 2025.

She has been praised for films ‘Taandob’, ‘Utshob’, ‘Putulnacher Itikotha’, ‘Fereshte’, ‘Jaya Aar Sharmin’, and ‘Dear Maa’.

Jaya announced the release date of her new movie ‘OCD’ on the first day of the New Year.

Her new film will be released in theatres in West Bengal on February 6.  A bitter experience can ruin the future of any child. Be it a boy or a girl. He has to carry the burden of that bitter experience throughout his life.

‘OCD’ is based on such a past experience made by Soukarya Ghoshal. The director says that it is basically a psychological drama.

Jaya will be seen in the role of a doctor in ‘OCD’. Her character is Shweta, who has a gray shadow of her past in her life, which haunts her.

When one of her patients suddenly finds out about Shweta’s past, Shweta kills him. In this way, she wants to end every person around her who opposes her.
The film ‘OCD’ began shooting in 2021.

The film had its world premiere at the Kolkata International Film Festival the following year. It has since been screened at several other international film festivals.

Now it is time for a theatrical release. On January 1, sharing the poster and release date of the film, Jaya wrote in the caption, “Wash away all the misery and dirt from the corners of your mind.” Director Soukarya Ghoshal said, “This film can be called my language of protest.

I have seen so many children all around me being victims of various incidents; it is not enough to say that. I have also seen many children who, despite being victims of harassment, remain silent only out of fear and because their families are not there for them.

As a result, the accused get away with it. Children carry this memory with them forever, which is never relieved.”

This is Jaya’s second film directed by Soukarya Ghoshal. She previously acted in the same director’s film ‘Bhoot Pori’.

After screening at various festivals, ‘Bhoot Pori’ was released in theatres last year.
