Chattogram Bureau :

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) and Army are going to jointly build an international standard hospital in Chattogram. Besides, Kazir Dewuri Children’s Park will also be opened.

The Mayor made this announcement in the 7th general meeting of the committee formed to manage the overall activities of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) held at the City Corporation office in Tiger Pass on Wednesday.

At the meeting, prayers were offered for the soul of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the country’s first female Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, and a minute’s silence was observed.

The meeting approved the issue of leasing 2.8612 acres of land in Alamshah Katgarh Mouza, Dampara, occupied by the CCC, to the CCC for 99 years in exchange for leasing 8 acres of land on Kalurghat FIDC Road owned by the CCC, and allocating 3 acres of land in the Kazir Dewuri Children’s Park to the CCC for 30 years for use only as a park.

The Mayor said in the meeting that it has been a dream of the city residents for a long time that the Kazir Dewuri Children’s Park will be opened.

The park will be developed as a completely green park without any structures, where people can walk and there will be opportunities for entertainment for children.

Regarding the international standard hospital, the Mayor said that the hospitals that the army has built in various parts of the country including Dhaka are very advanced in quality and management.

Such a hospital in Chattogram is the need of the hour. An agreement has been reached on the condition that the common people will be able to get international standard medical services at a low cost in the proposed hospital.

The mayor also highlighted the possibility of implementing ICT buildings, large-scale commercial markets and possible ‘China Town’-style projects using land in the Kalurghat area.
