Diplomats from 32 countries attend farewell

Diplomats from 32 countries are attending the namaz-e-janaza of BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia on Manik Mia Avenue. Ambassadors, high commissioners, and heads of various international organisations stationed in Dhaka joined the funeral prayers on Wednesday.

Among the 32 diplomats present are Acting US Ambassador Megan Boldin, British High Commissioner Sarah Cook, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen, and European Union Ambassador Michael Miller. Also in attendance are Acting Russian Ambassador Ekaterina Semenova, Japanese Ambassador Saida Shinichi, Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh, Australian High Commissioner Susan
Riley, and Reto Siegfried Renggli.

In addition, ambassadors and high commissioners from the Netherlands, Libya, the Philippines, Singapore, Palestine, South Korea, Myanmar, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Indonesia, Norway, Brazil, Morocco, Iran, Algeria, Brunei, Thailand, Qatar, Denmark, and Malaysia are participating in the janaza prayers.
