Special metro services to transport Khaleda’s janaza attendees
Staff Reporter :
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) will run additional metro rail services today to help people attend the namaz-e-janaza of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
The state-owned DMTCL will operate beyond its regular schedule for the janaza, scheduled at 2pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, according to a notice from AKM Khairul Alam, DMTCL director (admin).
Earlier, on 20 December, DMTCL had also provided special metro services for attendees of the janaza of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, who was fatally shot while electioneering in Dhaka on 12 December and died in a Singapore hospital on 18 December.
