Roadblock on Dhaka-Ctg highway Protest over Hadi murder
N’ganj Correspondent :
Students and local residents blocked the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj demanding a fair trial for the murder of Inquilab Moncho spokesperson Osman Hadi.
On Sunday, they placed bamboo barricades at the Signboard area from 3:00 pm and continued the program until around 4:30 pm.
During the blockade, they chanted strong slogans addressing India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Except for ambulances, they stopped all other vehicles. As a result, long traffic congestion formed in Signboard, Chittagong Road, Kanchpur, and Sanarpar areas, causing severe suffering to commuters.
Upon receiving the news, police and members of law enforcement arrived at the scene and spoke with the protesters, requesting them to lift the blockade. Around 4:30 pm, the protesters withdrew the blockade.
Alamgir Hossain, who joined the protest, said Osman Hadi was killed in a planned manner.
Even after a long time, the main killers have not been arrested and exemplary punishment has not been ensured. He warned of tougher movements if justice is not ensured soon.
Nirab Raihan, central organizer of Jatiyo Juboshokti, said they joined the divisional program announced by Inquilab Moncho demanding justice for Osman Hadi’s murder.
“We, the people of Narayanganj, are in the field. We will continue our struggle until justice is served,” he said.
