Staff Reporter:

The 3D Art Gallery organized a one-day art camp for presenting Puran Dhaka’s rich heritage through the language of art.

It was held with collaboration of the great work of twelve artists, on Saturday.

Organisers said the camp aimed not only to express art and heritage but also to preserve it. The initiative seeks to protect nearly lost history, traditions, and culture. It also encourages deep appreciation of national heritage while reimagining Puran Dhaka’s architecture, history, culture, and environment.

Participating artists created direct observational sketches centered on Puran Dhaka’s traditional ambiance, highlighting architectural beauty, daily life, and the passage of time.

Jagannath University professor and renowned artist Rashid Amin attended as chief guest. “Direct observational sketching in a heritage-rich place like Puran Dhaka makes artists’ work more realistic and profound,” he said.

Art enthusiast and prominent businessman Reaven Hasan was the special guest. “Heritage is a vital part of our identity. This initiative to bring it alive through art is commendable,” he noted.

Sohanur Rahman, CEO of the organizing body, added: “Puran Dhaka’s heritage is not just the past-it’s our living culture. We plan to continue such events regularly to make it more meaningful for the new generation through artistic practice.”
