New municipality slaughterhouse unveiled

A newly constructed modern and standard slaughterhouse has been inaugurated under the initiative of Nilphamari Municipality.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday in the afternoon at Collegepara area of the district town. The facility has been built on 18 decimals of land and was formally inaugurated by Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman.

As the chief guest of the event, the Deputy Commissioner unveiled the inauguration plaque of the slaughterhouse.

Among others present at the ceremony were Nilphamari Municipality Administrator Saidul Islam, Executive Engineer Tariq Reza, District Livestock Officer Dr. Rashedul Islam, Acting President of Nilphamari Press Club Atiar Rahman, and other concerned officials.

According to municipal sources, the modern slaughterhouse consists of two separate sheds where 20 cows and 20 goats can be slaughtered at the same time.
Slaughtering will be carried out under the supervision of a veterinary doctor after proper health inspections of the animals.

The slaughter process will also be conducted in accordance with religious guidelines by an imam appointed by the municipality.

Municipal authorities stated that the operation of this modern slaughterhouse will ensure hygienic, organized, and environmentally friendly slaughtering practices in the town.

As a result, public health protection will improve and environmental pollution caused by unregulated slaughtering will be significantly reduced.
