Hop Lun rolls out ‘Foundation to Future’ education initiative

Business Desk :

Leading global apparel manufacturer Hop Lun has officially launched ‘Foundation to Future (F2F)’, an education sponsorship program aimed at helping workers resume their learning journey and build skills beyond the workplace.

The pilot phase of the program was launched on Thursday, at Hop Lun Fashion, with 35 workers selected for the first cohort. The program is part of Hop Lun’s broader #SHECAN initiative and aligns with the company’s Wheel of Wellbeing framework, which recognizes education as a key pillar of employee well-being and personal development.

‘Foundation to Future’ is designed for workers who have completed Grade 5 and wish to continue their studies through Grade 8. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of two years of service with Hop Lun, consistent attendance and discipline records, and satisfactory job performance.

The selection process also considered participants’ eagerness to learn, positive attitude, and workplace engagement. The program focuses on five core subjects-Bangla, Basic English, Mathematics, General Science, and Social Science-aimed at strengthening literacy, numeracy, comprehension, and confidence.

Classes will be held twice a week over the next six to eight months.
TalenTracker Limited, an experienced HR consultancy specializing in workforce training and development, will train the workers.

The program includes a pre-assessment in December 2025, classes beginning in January 2026, a mid-term review in March 2026, and final assessments between June and August 2026. A graduation ceremony is planned for the final quarter of 2026.

“At Hop Lun, we believe our people are our greatest asset,” said Nishantha Mohottige, Country Head of Hop Lun Bangladesh. “Foundation to Future is an investment in the dreams and potential of our workers, enabling them to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.”

Mohammed Fakhruzzaman, General Manager at Hop Lun Fashion, said the program reflects the company’s belief in the transformative power of education. “We are not just helping workers pass exams; we are helping them discover their capabilities and build confidence in what they can achieve.”

For participants like Amena Khatun, an Operator at Hop Lun, the program represents a second chance. “I completed Class 5 many years ago and always dreamed of studying further, but life took me in a different direction,” Amena shared.

“This program isn’t just about learning English or Math-it’s about believing in myself again. I want to show my children that education matters and that it’s never too late to learn.”

The Foundation to Future program reflects Hop Lun’s people-centric approach and long-term investment in its workforce, recognizing workers not just as employees but as individuals with aspirations and opportunities to grow.
