Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan new MD of Al-Arafah Islami Bank

Al-Arafah Islami Bank (AIB) PLC has appointed Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan as its managing director (MD).
He was appointed to this position for a period of 3 years from December 18, 2025.
Before joining this position, he was working as the additional managing director (AMD) and chief risk officer of the bank.
Earlier, he served as the deputy managing director (DMD), CRO and CAMELCO of NCC Bank PLC.
Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan started his career by joining Eastern Bank PLC as a first batch probationary officer in 1994.
During his career spanning over 31 years in the banking sector, he held key and leadership positions at Brac Bank, Dutch Bangla Bank and Prime Bank.
He has a diverse career spanning across various banking branches and head offices, spanning a wide range of areas including credit risk management, corporate banking, product development and process and policy making in both Islamic and conventional banking.
Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan obtained his Post-Graduate Degree in Statistics from University of Dhaka.
He also holds an MBA from a private university. He has attended numerous seminars and workshops both domestically and internationally including in Nepal, Thailand and UAE for professional needs.
