Restoration Factory BD closing ceremony celebrated

The Restoration Factory Bangladesh 2025 program,locallyimp lementedbyi DEB angladeshin collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Bridge for Billions, celebrated its grand closing ceremony in the capital on Tuesday.

This year’s cohort supported 50 early-stage green entrepreneurs from across the country, representing a diverse range of sectors including renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, waste and circularity, water and sanitation, nature-based solutions, sustainable forestry, green manufacturing, and eco-friendly consumer products.

Over a nine-month journey, participants received a structured business incubation experience, expert session and mentorship from both national and international experts.

The program focused on strengthening climate-smart business models, enhancing investment readiness, and equipping entrepreneurs with the tools needed to scale environmentally responsible innovations. At the ceremony, 17 entrepreneurs were shortlisted to pitch their innovative solutions to an expert jury.

Their ideas showcased sustainable technologies, low-carbon business models,and practical solutions for community resilience. From these, four entrepreneurs received USD2,000 grants, awarded under the categories of Environment alImpact, Social Impact, Innovation & Technology, and Women Entrepreneur of the Year, a press release said.

The event also included a Green Innovation Showcase, where entrepreneurs displayed their products and prototypes, attracting strong interest from investors, development partners, and private-sectorleaders.

Seniorofficials from the Ministry of Planning, representatives from UNEP, and leaders from Bangladesh’s entrepreneurial ecosystem attended the ceremony.
